Mardi Gras week was a little different this year due to Covid. We didn’t have the influx of international tourists we normally do. But the Mardi Gras spirit was still in the air.
I have worked with Don Arnold a few times and he is an incredible photographer (our covid photo was listed as one of the top 10 influential photos of 2020)
This year Don wanted to capture Mardi Gras again but this time focus on what we really enjoyed about the festive season.
One thing I always remember is the people you meet in the toilets, nothing sexual, more friends / strangers you meet waiting for the loo. (Oh and it was a great excuse to work with the spunky Heath Keating)
Also added is photos from the launch it RuPaul’s Drag Race at the Sydney Opera House.
And pictures from the Virgin “Pride” flight from Brisbane to Sydney over Mardi Gras. 7am in drag at the airport to fly up to literally get back on a plane to fly home. Mental but so much fun. 2021
