The first I ever walked in the Mardi Gras parade.

I think the year was 1998. I was working as a cashier at Star City casino. I felt like I was working in Vegas (until many years later when I went to Vegas). So the opportunity arose to be apart of the casinos float in the Mardi Gras parade. Of course my sister Katherine Gorge and I jumped at the chance. We were baby queens but like every baby queen, thought they knew everything. After many fittings and rehearsals, we were to be dancing / walking / running beside the float in full roulette table dresses and HEELS. By the time we reached the end of the parade route, our feet were so sore, we had to sit down most of the party. Here are a few pictures from the marshaling area.
